This is an absolutely brilliant routine. Every time I do the separation I'm amazed that it works--it really looks impossible. And being able to spell out the King of Spades (or Hearts), then reveal that the other cards are the Ace through Queen in order...unbelievable. (In his book he teaches a "Triumph application, too.) It takes a little practice to get the angles closer together, rather than at 90 degrees, but it's well worth it. You have to have a motivation for the separation, too: you're dealing through the whole deck. But this is an audience management issue. There's a lot you can do with this--if you forced a card, you could have it be the only red card in the black cards, say.

The explanation is clear and thorough. The Oil and Water is the simplest and most direct I've seen, and the way he uses it to cover any mistakes you may have made in separating the cards is a great idea. I'm really glad I bought this, and there's no doubt I'd buy it again.

A really useful move

Good move and some fun routines. Bought this looking for ways to setup some tricks that requires a fair amount of setup in the middle of a routine instead of just the start.
