For the move itself my rating is five stars. It looks good, and with practice will look brilliant (that is to say, invisible). It's easier to get to grips with than I thought, and thicker cards will probably make it easier to do than thinner, bendier cards (eg Hoyle vs Aristocrat or Leveret). You need to be able to control a card, and the weird upwards-spread control that Austyn uses in the trailer isn't taught. But now we come to the problem.
The teaching is barely adequate, and that's what drops my rating. Biz shows the move then just keeps doing it over and over. He even says, "There's not much explaining besides this." Well, he's sort of right; but there is more that could have been done.
An additional camera angle or angles would have helped a LOT with finger placement, etc; all we get is over his left shoulder. Also his explaining is unclear. Eg: "Notice that sometimes when I'm doing the move it doesn't really look like [self-redacted], it looks like THIS, and that's a bad way to do it. It should not look like THIS because that looks awkward," but he doesn't really explain what "THIS" actually is or what's wrong with it. Not to mention his "Notice that I still sometimes have the bad habit of not making it look like [redacted]". Even in the instruction video the teacher can't consistently get the move right?!
Still, it's good that BBM picked this up because if Austyn had tried making a tutorial himself then, based on his performance (in the tutorial, not the trailer) it would have been nigh on impenetrable. Biz is engaging and gives some good tips, but overall the quality isn't up to BBM's usual high standards.
