I found this trick an eye opener so simple but not seen by your audience. I found a good move is to show the back of the cards after a shuffle where they can see the win and lose possibilities. Then shuffle again and turn the cards over and place in the mixed order saying they have a free choice.
They of course don't believe the outcome specially after producing further denomination cards and the result being the same.
