The Magic of Ed Oschmann

The Magic of Ed Oschmann

xxx

I'm sure my life in Magic began similarly to yours. Awkward young man with no interest in sports and/or activities that requires one to be among(st) his male peers.

It all began with a trip to a barber that was recommended by my buddy Gili Neuman. "You gotta see this guy Eddie, he does Magic!".

So, after giving me the obligatory 1978 bowl haircut, Gene Collins showed me Magic with coins and cards, nothing like I had seen before. He recognized the twinkle. I was enraptured. It might not have been that visit, but eventually he lent me his copies of Now You See It Now you Don't (Lessons In Sleight of Hand) by Bill Tarr.

These books led me to the local Magic Shop in Tucson, where I bought my first trick: Nickels to Dimes. Did kid shows for $10. Worked at round table Pizza Friday and Saturday nights table hopping. Coffee Etc. in Tucson Saturday and Sunday mornings table hopping.

Big break: working for Bill Malone at Malone's Magic bar in Boca Raton. That was great! Difficult at times, but what an amazing experience! Let's just say I had a lot to learn. Bill learned me good.

Married way out of my league, and had two children who are exponentially cooler than I ever was. I enjoy cooking, and concocting magic tricks for my own use. But I like to share! Hope you like what I have to offer!
