Using and learning from Steven Palmer routines and method's is new to me but I love his logical thinking excellent purchase and routine material that is practical to use I am now a Rouge

There are many merits to this 2-DVD set. The toolbox section alone is worth the price of admission. I loved the teaching (and James thoughts) on four of a kind productions, peeks, the pass, and "Thoughts on Controls I and II."

The first effect from the set that I will be working on is "Poker Con." This can be performed in a strolling set or in a formal close-up show. Another interesting thing about this effect is that it can be performed with advanced moves or not-so-advanced moves (the version he teaches could probably be performed by beginners, but the version he demonstrates uses more advanced moves). In fact, even though James is an advanced card handler, most of the effects can be performed by intermediate card handlers. "Roy's Sandwich" and the various triumph routines deserve further study also.

As an added bonus, I loved the interviews at the end (how James auditioned and then got cast for his TV show, winning a BAFTA, etc.).

Production Quality: Good
Instruction/explanation: Overall, good (w/reservations, see below).
Content: Very good; Steve's "Void" idea is clever and attractive; his shuffle is a keeper!

Cons:
Instruction/explanation: I have quite a few videos produced by BBM and have found the explanations to always be consistently very good, especially when Liam is involved, as he often supplements the "first pass" on an explanation with a comment or clarifying question. On this video, I felt Liam was a bit too passive and missed a couple of opportunities to help Steve expand or clarify the instructional points he was trying to make. By no means a dealbreaker, just not quite up to what I have come to expect from BBM/Liam.

Overall: For me, the ideas presented by Steve were the best part of the video. The effects he described were fine and were good demonstrations of how his ideas can be used to good effect. I strongly recommend this project.

I especially enjoyed the tips and subtleties shared in the explanations. I was able to immediately apply these subtleties to other tricks I already perform to make them even more fooling. This alone was worth the price of the DVD to me.

I'm a fan of Palmer. That being said I didn't know what to expect. These concepts and tricks are really good. While not self working the 'moves' Palmer teaches are basic. This is a great addition to my BBM library.

As we know from BBM the production, filming and explantion is done exelent.
The rouines are very cool, but a little slight of hand is required.
The slight of hand is explained very well and as beginners you have to train yourself.
I do not think that all the routines are self working, therefore you need to practice all what is thought on the dvd.
Do I recommend this item? I say yes.
There is hard hitting mentalism that you can use at the stop.
